I was expecting to write a post about my back to back vacations but then I just hit a brick wall. Maybe it’s just a hard crash from having two really awesome breaks from life, or maybe it’s all the changes going on around me. Or maybe it was looking at my credit card statement and thinking “What the fuck are you doing?” People always say don’t compare yourself or your life to those around you, but it’s hard. Friends are getting married. Having kids. Buying houses. And it’s not that I want those things too (I sure as hell don’t want kids), but just the bigger picture of situations and life changing. Everything changes. But then I look at my life and think, what’s changed here? Nothing. I’m in the same exact spot honestly. And I don’t like it. So it’s time to try and do something about it. I only have one more vacation this year and that might be it for awhile, at least for “bigger” vacations. I did cut back on conventions this year, but I think next year I might not do any at all. They get expensive, even when splitting certain costs with friends. I really enjoyed my getaway to the beach over the weekend, and might just look into more local stuff next year as far as travel. I need to be able to do some traveling, or it’ll be too depressing. It’s what I do, and what I love.
I feel like this post is all over the place, and I apologize for that. It’s pretty much a steady stream of word vomit at this point. But it’s time to cut back on stupid ass spending and make some extra cash to get this to a more manageable level. I’m not one to ask for handouts. This is my mess to fix but here are some links you can use when shopping where I’ll earn a little bit of affiliate money:
Amazon: I earn a very small kickback anytime someone uses my link for shopping. And I do mean small! If you end up using my link, I really appreciate it. You don’t have to do anything special expect just click that link or the Amazon link in my sidebar.
Ebates: If I get two friends to sign up, I earn $50! If you aren’t familiar with Ebates, you earn cashback while shopping online. There’s no catch. It’s super easy to use and features thousands of stores. Some examples include Kohl’s, Hot Topic, JC Penney, Sephora, Old Navy, and a ton of flower websites. I’ve been using it for years and I’ve received over $900 back. If you have any questions about it, leave them in the comments and I’ll do my best to answer.
Sideshow Toys: It’s no surprise that I’m an Affiliate with Sideshow. I know their stuff is expensive but I earn something on pretty much everything they sell, including the more affordable items like books, smaller figures, and prints. Just like with Amazon, all you have to do is click my link and shop! I have links in the sidebar and if you follow me on Twitter, I’m always posting new collectibles that they’ve put up for order.
And to keep this post from being too depressing and wording, here’s a beautiful photo from the beach that I took over the weekend. Again, any questions about any of the links above, just ask and I’ll do my best to answer.
