I need to thank Dana for tagging this for me on Facebook. You have no idea what this video does to me. I need Season 6 to start up. Now. I really do hope he gets back to killing baddies.
I think I need to switch gyms. There’s nothing wrong with where I go. I just wish it was closer to work. I mean, by the time I deal with traffic for 45 minutes (at least) I really don’t feel like going to the gym. Plus once I actually get home, I stay home. If I switched to something closer to work I could kill two birds with one stone. I’d go to the gym AND I’d miss traffic. I figure if I worked out for an hour or more, by the time I was done traffic wouldn’t be as bad.
The downside? Most of the gyms near work cost much more than what I pay now. Some are $50 a month! I only pay $24.99 at the moment. Of course most of those gyms have pools though which is nice. I think work has a deal with a few different gyms. I might check with HR and see if any of those deals are still on. Plus there’s the hassle of canceling the current membership. I’m sure they’ll want a vile of blood or a first born.
We’ll see. Maybe I’ll go ahead and cancel and just wait to see if any of the gyms offer some type of deals or even a Groupon or something! But I need to get my ass in gear.
…People stop by your desk on Monday to make sure you survived, along with everyone else.
After work on Friday there was a Happy Hour at a newish bar near work (location is new, the chain is not). I had been there once before after softball and enjoyed it but I could make it a regular spot now. There was actually a pretty good turn out which was a surprise since this wasn’t a special occasion Happy Hour or anything. It might have been because it was a new spot.
It lasted until 1am. We were there (well, some of us) for 8 hours. 8. Hours. I really didn’t plan to stay that long. I thought I’d be out of there by 8pm or 9pm at the latest but nope. I partied my ass off. In the end there were only 5 of us left and luckily it was all people that I liked. Here are a few funny/awkward moments that I remember!
1. One girl fell and took someone out with her. She didn’t remember this happened until Sunday.
2. An engaged coworker was trying to get with every girl there and confessed to us he really isn’t love with his fiance’. We’re trying to find out if it was truth or just the booze talking.
3. One guy woke up the next morning with a ton of Chinese food boxes but doesn’t remember stopping to buy it.
4. This same guy “meditated” on the hood of another persons car to stop them from leaving.
5. Someone (not anyone in our group) got sick in the parking lot.
6. I found pictures on my phone I don’t remember taking.
I’m sure I’ll remember more as the week goes on.
I can’t wait. On June 23rd I’ll be hopping on a plane and heading off to Nashville to visit a friend. For the first time. We met on a message board a few years ago which transitioned into emails and then texts and phone calls.
This will be my 1st time visiting Nashville but I’ve wanted to see the city for awhile. I actually like country music and stalking people which means this vacation can combine both of my favorite things into one trip! We plan on checking out the Country Music Hall Of Fame and The Hermitage. The Hermitage is where Andrew Jackson lived. You know what guy. He was the 7th President. I love history and checking out different attractions. To be honest, I’m a huge tour whore. I love going on different tours. I normally hit one up on every vacation and if the area offers a boat tour? Oh hell yes. I’m all about it. Ghost tour? Don’t even get me started!
Back on subject! We’ll be staying at two different hotels. The first night we’ll be staying at the Loews Nashville and then on the last night we’ll be staying at the Gaylord Opryland! We’re both very excited about staying here. It’s amazing in the photo’s I’ve seen. They have two pools plus they offer a shuttle over to the Ryman Auditorium. There isn’t anyone playing that I’d want to see (Vince Gill is playing Thursday but my flight doesn’t arrive in time) but I’d like to take a tour. There’s just so much history there! It would be a crime not to try and visit.
I’m sad that my visit will only be a long weekend but I’m glad I’m finally able to make the trip! I actually used a few Southwest gift cards that I received for Christmas to pay for some of the flight which helped. I can’t wait to see my friends and her daughter! Watch out Nashvegas, here we come!
The name of the blog comes from a quote from the show “The Mentalist.” It’s one of my favorite shows and the main character, Patrick Jane (played by hottie Simon Baker) is always having a cup of tea. He could be in the middle of a crime scene and he’ll either ask for a cup or head off to the kitchen and fix it himself. In Season 3, Episode 4 (“Red Carpet Treatment“) Jane had the quote “Tea? It’s like a hug in a cup.”
I couldn’t agree more. A good cup of tea can be very soothing and relaxing. You just get wrapped up in warmth, like a nice hug!
