Thought’s Appears mentioned she wanted to hear my story about meeting the boys of Nysnc. It’s a great post idea if I do say so myself!
The first two members I met were Chris and Lance. It happened during one of the Challenge For The Children (CFTC) events down in Miami. It was a charity event the guys put on every year that featured a basketball game and various parties at different clubs. One year we (my fellow stalkers) stayed at the Host Hotel where the group stayed along with other celebrities. It cost more but it was worth it to us. It was a great chance to maybe meet a celebrity plus you felt like one yourself. I mean, every time we came off the elevator cameras would go off in case we happened to be someone important. Now, I can’t remember which one actually came first since it all happened during the same weekend. Plus this was a number of years ago. I can’t remember shit from last week let alone years ago.
Chris we ran into in the main lobby of the hotel when we were heading out to a party. It was funny because once again a large crowd was hanging out around the 2nd lobby by the elevator. If they had only picked the main lobby, they would’ve scored seeing Chris. I don’t even remember how it went down exactly. It was funny though because he had a huge martini glass, I mean huge. He handed it off to one of his security guys when we took our pictures and then freaked out because he didn’t know where it was. He was really nice though! I kept telling my Chris loving friend to ask to be his date to the party but it didn’t happen. I’m 90% sure in his drunken state he would’ve said hell yes and we would’ve been the envy of girls everywhere!
I’d be lying if I said we never stalked out the lobby by the elevator. The only difference was we were actually staying at the hotel. There were people sitting around who weren’t even staying at the hotel! That’s how crazy it was. One night we didn’t have anything to do which can be a dangerous thing. We made our way down to the lobby rocking our “Hamburger Pants” to see if we could spot anyone. We found a spot on some steps away from the crowd. I mean, we didn’t want to be labeled “one of those” girls! A little time goes by and then we hear the tell tale sign that someone has been spotted. OMGZ! It’s Lance! I think we waited our turn to get a picture. Again, he was really nice and I’m pretty sure I said something dumb which I can’t remember. He might have even commented on the pants. Seriously, by the end of the trip we were known as “The Hamburger Pants Girls.” That’s how awesome we were. We even had some up and coming group ask to take their picture with us. That’s right, we were celebrities!
Again, I can’t remember the order but next it was JC and Joey. They were two different events though but with my friend Dana.
Dana & I had headed up to NYC to catch Joey in “Little Shop Of Horors.” That’s right, we supported each member equally. We planned to only see one show but ended up seeing it twice. After the 2nd show is when we waited outside and got the chance to meet him. Now this was super quick. If you’ve ever waited after a show to meet someone you know it’s a little rushed and crazy. When you add a Nsync member to the mix, it’s even worse. He was great though and made sure to check in with as many fans as he could. We managed to get a picture (which I look horrible in) and a signature. I actually had him sign my CFTC tank top! That’s right, he almost touched my boob.
I saved the best for last. JC was and will always be my favorite. While everyone else was shitting bricks over Justin I was swooning over JC. I’m assuming this happened around the time his solo album came out. One of the local stations in DC hosted these “Little Black Dress” parties at different bars and normally a different celeb would attend each one as the “MC” if you will. Well, JC happened to be the MC of one of these parties. Dana and I couldn’t pass it up! It was super crowded but it was worth it. He slowly made his rounds and made his way over to us. You could tell he was uncomfortable with the crowd size and I couldn’t blame him. We had to be over the limit! We got a picture with him and were able to say a word or two. Actually, I doubt I was able to speak.
The only one who eludes me to this day, is Justin. I doubt it’ll ever happen since he keeps getting bigger and bigger. He was actually at San Diego Comic Con when I was there but I had other people to stalk.
