Yesterday I stopped by Target and gave my “notice.” I explained that I really did enjoy working there but with the full time job, it’s getting to be a bit much. Since I’m seasonal anyway, it didn’t seem like a huge surprise to HR. I’ll be working there up until the 23rd and then it’s goodbye for now! I’ll be marked as rehire-able in case I want to join again next year. I would honestly go back. I did enjoy working there, everyone was nice, I felt welcomed, and the customers were pretty good for the most part.
The money wasn’t anything amazing but it has made a huge bump to my savings. I’m proud of myself for not spending it and actually doing with it what I said I’d do. I think I’ll have 2-3 more checks by the time I’m done which might put my savings near the $2K mark. If not, pretty damn close which feels really good. Plus I learned that if I want to do something, I really can. I never thought I’d work two jobs, but I did! Every day I feel like someone asks how I manage to do it. To be fair, my FT is an office job. It’s not anything physical and it’s pretty laid back. But then again maybe I’m just not giving myself enough credit.
