Back in July I made a post about how I started laser hair removal. I wanted to wait until I had a few sessions under my belt (pun intended) to revisit the topic and here we are! I’ve now had three sessions (July, September, November) and I can say that I am very impressed with the results! I was a little nervous at first and honestly, still am with each treatment, but that’s just my brain. There’s a huge difference and it’s been kinda fun to watch the changes happen. The pain levels seem about the same and don’t feel much different during each treatment. They each last about the same amount of time as well. They always ask if you had any issues last time, like any redness or weird reactions. Knock on wood, but I’ve had zero reactions. They’ve even called me a few days later to check on me! How thoughtful is that? This last treatment, the technician went in a little more than last time and gave me some tips on what kind of undies to wear to make sure I get the same areas next time. I guess it was something I just never really thought about! I’m now curious to see how different the areas “heal” since one has had more treatments than the other. I’m not really concerned about it though since I still have a number of treatments to go! One of the really interesting parts is watching the hair shed. About a week after your treatments you need to exfoliate the area to help that process along. But…you can basically just grab a little hair and pull it out. There’s no pain because the root is pretty much gone. It’s not as much fun as popping a pimple but it’s up there on the “weird pleasures” list. My next treatment is in January and I’m looking forward to it! I’d say that right now though, I’d feel comfortable and confident hopping into a pool.
I’m really glad I finally went through with this. I’m looking forward to saving money when summer rolls around and I don’t have to schedule waxes and worry about ingrown hairs. Plus there’s the freedom of being able to hit the pool whenever I want and not having to shave real quick. It’s about the simple joys in life.
I do want to answer/comment on some questions that were left on my last post! I know cost is an issue for a lot of people. It was for me! I planned to do two areas but ended up only being able to pick one for now. That being said, most places will offer payment plans. I basically had a special line of credit opened just for this. Basically the same way I paid for my LASIK years ago, just with a different company. Just make sure you read all the fine print, including APR rates. If they’re doing special 0% financing, be sure to check and see what happens if you don’t pay it off by the time allotted. Sometimes you’ll owe back interest. While I didn’t use Groupon for my treatments, that’s another option as well. Just make sure you do your research! You can find some really amazing deals though on there and 99.9% of the time, it’s the same places most of us are paying full price for.
That’s it for now! If you guys have any other questions let me know and I’ll try my best to answer them next time around!
