She might be on the wrong team but this Hot Toys Civil War Black Widow is 100% right. We’ve been begging and pleading for a new head sculpt (not just a repaint) and we finally got one! It’s such an improvement and I can’t wait to add her to my self. I think it’s adorable she comes with a tiny Ant-Man, because who doesn’t love tiny Ant-Man? If you’re someone who’s been holding out on ordering a Widow because of all the choices, I’d recommend going with this version. In my opinion she’s the perfect one! She’s $219.99 and as always, you can go with a payment plan. There’s a NRD of $22.
I normally try to do posts whenever I a new Hot Toy hits the market but they’ve been coming pretty fast these days leading up to “Captain America: Civil War.” Instead of a solo post for each figure, here’s a little recap of what has hit the “shelves” recently!
Scarlet Witch (New Avengers Version): $224.99
This is the outfit that we saw Wanda wear at the end of “Age of Ultron.” It is not her Civil War outfit! She’s being promoted as an “exclusive” which means numbers might be limited but we have no idea what that number is.
Captain America Civil War: Black Panther: $219.99
I have a feeling this is a figure that will look much better in hand. I think he looks fantastic but I feel that maybe some of the details might be hard to capture in photos. I’m probably going to hold off on ordering until his solo movie rolls around.
Captain America: Civil War: Captain America (Battling Version): $224.99
Another figure from Civil War! They released one Cap already but this is a “damaged version” and an exclusive like Scarlet Witch. Again, no idea how many are being made but I know he’s a hot seller at the moment. I love the stand he comes with and I wish more figures came with unique stands like it! His shield features claw marks from Black Panther as well.
Captain America: Civil War Falcon: $234.99
He’s sporting his updated Team Cap colors this time around. They’re claiming more movement in the wings as well but I’m not sure how much exactly. In a perfect world I’d love to be able to have them straight up but I doubt that’s an option. I’ll be interested to see in hand photos of this guy. He comes with Red Wing as well!
And there you have! I expect we’ll see even more up for order soon since the movie is right around the corner. I’m personally waiting for Black Widow to go up because I obviously need to own all of them. As always, all the figures above offer payment plan options that will work with any budget!
I already own one Winter Solider figure but that’s not going to stop me from picking up this one. I need to own them all. And if you missed out on the first one I feel bad for you. It’s an outstanding figure with all kinds of little accessories and it just looks bad ass and now I’m rambling. The new figure doesn’t come with as much but that’s not a surprise to me. While the character name is the same, it’s not the same character if that makes sense. He’s not loaded up with HYDRA gear anymore which means less toys to play with. I still think it’s a pretty kick ass item to add to your collection though. The head sculpt is a little different from the first which is nice to see. Sometimes Hot Toys has a habit of just reusing them over and over again (See: Black Widow).
The movie-accurate collectible is specially crafted based on the image of Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier in the movie. It features a newly sculpted head sculpt, new chrome colored left arm with red star emblem, finely tailored costume, a machine gun, and a specially designed Captain America: Civil War themed figure stand.
I’m really excited to see the new arm. I think it’s probably the one issue most people had with the first one. The arm just didn’t stand out the way it should. Now, while I love this figure and the look of it, I really hope they give us a Red Shirt/Civilian Bucky Barnes. I just love the way he looks in it and honestly, I have a feeling he’ll be wearing that more than his Winter Soldier outfit. If you want the Winter Soldier to grace your shelf, it’ll cost $219.99 with a NRD of $22.00.
We knew it was only a matter of time before we started seeing Hot Toys figures for Civil War. They’ve been teased at Toy Fairs but now it’s finally time to pull out our wallets. First up is Captain America himself!
The movie-accurate Captain America Collectible Figure is specially crafted based on the image of Chris Evans as Captain America/Steve Rogers in Captain America: Civil War. It features a helmeted head sculpt with two interchangeable lower faces, a newly painted un-helmeted head sculpt of Steve Rogers, a newly developed body which naturally portray Captain America’s muscularly toned body, a completely new Captain America suit, a metal circular shield, a broken Crossbone helmet, and a specially designed Captain America: Civil War themed figure stand!
I’m really interested by the fact it has an interchangeable lower face and not just different head sculpts. I’ve never had a figure with something like that before so I wonder how easy/hard it is to do. I don’t know about you, but I am always paranoid I’m going to break something when I switch things out. That’s why I’m horrible at posing them! I know some collectors aren’t fans of the bases for these figures but I like them. If you aren’t a fan, you can easily pick up plain bases on Ebay for a few bucks. The Civil War Captain America Marvel Sixth Scale Figure will set you back $224.99 with a NRD of $22.50!
Let’s be real. The breakout star of Ant-Man was his trusty stead, Antony. Raise your hand if you cried during *that* scene? Go ahead and raise your hand because I was one of them! She was just too adorable and sweet. Seriously, only Marvel could make me have emotions over an ant! When I saw that Hot Toys was releasing a little version of Scott and Antony, I knew I had to have it. It wasn’t even up for discussion. Plus the price was right at just $39.99! Well, she finally arrived!
I love that even though this is a small item with a small price tag, Hot Toys still did a fantastic job on the box. Seriously, the boxes they put together are works of art in their own right. While the paint job on Scott could be improved, the detail on the wings really makes up for it. I’d personally buy this with or without Scott. It wasn’t about him, it was about the ant! This is the perfect collectible for someone who doesn’t have a lot of space or money. It can easily sit on a desk with no issues. You can see how small the size is compared to Baby Groot. Baby Groot is just a hair taller than a Funko Pop, to give a better idea. So, if you’re looking for something fun and maybe you have some random Sideshow Reward Points laying around, I’d recommend picking this little collectible up!
