C2E2 was a few weekends ago and once again I threw Catwoman into my suitcase and took her along for the ride. Last year was when I debuted the costume and this time around I made another improvement. I had already replaced the cowl with something better, and this time I replaced the corset. The one that came with the costume was pretty cheap and honestly didn’t do much. I reached out to Lauren at Castle Corsetry and she was more than excited to help me out with an upgrade! Friday was the day I scheduled for cosplay and I’m glad I did. The crowd wasn’t too bad and it was a pretty easy day. I have a feeling Saturday would have been a nightmare based on the crowd. It’s hard to hear since the cowl covers my ears and the last thing I want is for someone who wants a photo to think I’m ignoring them.
Before the show started, I scheduled a few photoshoots. I set something up with Abby of Butterhalf Cosplay Photography who I worked with last year. This time I scheduled an hour which was fantastic. Then I wanted to find someone new to work with. It’s a hard thing to figure. I checked out a few portfolios, asked friends for some feedback and finally went with Justin Evangelista. His photos really jumped out to me and I loved the way he used lights and color. He had really reasonable rates and I booked just a quick 15 minute shoot with him. He was great to work with! I’m super pleased with my photos and he was just really nice and knew what sort of look he was going for. I’d 100% work with him again and book a longer time, or even something for nighttime. If you’re looking for photographers, I highly recommend the two above!
Now onto the photos!

There are still things I need to work on, like my face. I just never know what to do really! I need to work on smirks and grins. I’m just not a natural in front of a camera and really only do things like this at conventions. I might try and book things locally throughout the year to work on things like faces and poses. Don’t be fooled though, I’m beyond happy with my photos! I love how each photographer brought something different to the table. I have to give a huge Thank You to Melinda who helped me out that day! She held my stuff, kept creepers away, and laced me up! Plus she would let me know if someone was asking for a photo since again, I couldn’t really hear. I had a few little girls ask for photos which was adorable. It really was a great time and I’ll probably take Selina along with me next year as well!
