Over the weekend I went up to Philly with my sisters family to check out the Jurassic World Exhibit! It’s been on my radar ever since it opened but just now finally had the time to make it up there. I’m pretty sure I was more excited than the kids but whatever. If you’ve been planning to check it out, do it soon. I believe the weekend of April 23rd is the last one in Philly before it moves to Chicago!
The exhibit features some amazing life like robotic dinosaurs and some really well put together sets. At one point you’re in the lab where they hatch the eggs. There’s an entire wall full of ember stones, incubators, and some hands on displays. Some small video clips are played before some of the dinosaur interactions like with Blue the Raptor and the T-Rex. Obviously my favorite part was with Rexy. She comes out to feed and pushes a jeep a bit and roars. It’s just really fun! Aiden (my nephew) was scared of the Raptor part. It’s actually a person in a really well done costume. She’s in a cage but comes over close to the bars and snarls and what not. That’s the part where Aiden would climbed inside of me if he could have. He was scared trying to get past Indominus Rex at the end as well but I think he still had a good time. We tried explaining that they weren’t real, just robots but he wasn’t having it. The only thing I would change would be to give people more of a chance to get photos with certain displays. When it came to the timed events, once the little show as over you had to move onto the next part. Especially since those areas are kinda small and crowded. Even if you wanted to try and grab a selfie, it would be difficult because of the space. Granted, that might change with each location the exhibit travels to depending on the space available. That being said, if it does come to your area be sure to check it out! I had a really great time! I’d say it took maybe 1.5 hours to go through everything. Now enjoy some photos and a video I took!
Like I said, the next location on the tour is Chicago at the Field Museum! You can learn more about it here! Has anyone else checked it out? Maybe you plan on hitting up Chicago? Let me know!
