Before we get to any new goals, let’s take a look at how I did last month.
1. Drink More Water/Less Soda: BIG ASS CHECK
By the time I publish this, it’ll probably be two full weeks since my last soda. But a total of three weeks with only one. And the water? I’ve been kicking ass and pretty much 12 cups of water a day. What really helped was buying a bigger water bottle. I grabbed one from Target (of course), that holds about 3 cups of water. It really helps since I’m not always having to get up from my desk to refill it. In the morning to help out with the soda craving, I just have a bottle of Bai. It’s only 11 calories per bottle, still has caffeine, and 0 sugar.
2. The Gym: CHECK
I’ve been averaging three times a week, with a few weeks only twice because of scheduling issues. When I do go though, I’m there for about 40 minutes. I added some classes to my account at Xpose Fitness and attended my first class on the 28th which kicked my ass. Like seriously, I’m still sore. Someone send help.
3. Eat Better: Kinda Check?
I’ve been eating better in the fact that I’ve been watching my calories. I use MyFitnessPal to track everything and I’ve been at or under my goal on a pretty regular basis. It does make me think before ordering something for lunch, or when I’m out for dinner. I really have to work on bringing lunch to work though.
So, not too bad! I feel really good about hitting all my goals and I know it’s something I can keep up. The key to the soda is to get to a week. Once you do that, it’s much easier. Even when I did cave that one time, it tasted way too sweet! That’s a good thing because it means I’m less likely to grab one again. Now onto February!
1. Add Weights Into My Workout
Right now, I pretty much just do cardio. I need to work some weights into the routine though to help round everything out. It’s just one of those things that seems intimidating because one wrong move and you’re fucked.
2. Get To Reading More
I did really great with hitting my reading goal last year. I need to get back into it for 2017. I received an awesome box of true crime books thanks to a friend so I’ll be diving into those!
3. Pack My Lunch
I’m horrible with this. I always forget, or just don’t feel like it. How lazy is that? It’ll help save money and it’ll help with the eating better thing too. It’s two birds with one stone!
It was actually hard to come up with that last goal. Obviously I’m going to be sticking with the gym/water as well. I just didn’t want to repeat it. Did you make any goals for last month? How did you do?
