Like every year, C2E2 turns into a blur once the convention comes to an end. I spent most of the time wandering the floor, hanging out with friends, and just enjoying myself. I only attended four panels but I enjoyed each one of them. My favorite had to be the Women of Marvel panel that featured some of the amazing and talented ladies that work at Marvel. To see that many ladies on stage to talk about everything from editing to coloring was really inspiring! If they ever have a panel like this at a con you’re attending, be sure to check it out. You won’t be disappointed.
The other panels I attended included 25 Years of Deadpool, Spooks & Specters of Chicago, and the Marvel Unlimited Plus panel. I was able to read a Free Comic Book Day story early which was pretty cool. It’s always fun to go up on stage and read something that won’t be out for a few months. No, I won’t tell you what book it was. Yes, this is humble bragging. There were other panels I wanted to attend but I just lost track of time and didn’t make them. I even skipped Speed Dating because getting a free Phil Noto quick sketch was much more important. Plus we had passed a table earlier in the day with guys talking about it and well, they looked like douchebags. Sorry, not sorry.
The floor had its crowded moments but it didn’t feel as crowded as it has in the past. I think the show being a month earlier really messed with people. I know I felt “off” the entire weekend and week leading up to the show. I only brought one comic to be signed, didn’t really do as much planning as I normally do. Then again, this is the one show where I really do just go with the flow. It’s more important to see friends than to sit in panels. And because of that I got to finally meet Jordan Dené, Marlene, and Jessica!
It was great to meet so many other nerdy ladies! Of course when I stopped by Jordan’s booth I had to grab her Kylo Ren tank top and I’m glad I did! I was able to grab the last medium. Her stuff is amazing and she’s been adding something new every month. Be sure to check it out! I’m holding out hope she’ll add “Clever Girl” from Jurassic Park one of these days. And honestly, that’s it! I did cosplay Scarlet Witch for a hot minute on Friday and I do mean hot. Between the wig and the jacket I couldn’t take it. I’m going to work on a hispter version or something to help cool it down. On Saturday I finally wore my Elhoffer Design Deadpool dress. I had a few people tell me they loved it and someone even asked for a selfie. Who are you!? Are you reading this!? Let me know! I even saw a few other ladies wearing her stuff and of course we had to stop and fangirl over it.
Of course my convention isn’t complete unless I get my picture taken on the Marvel stage. I really love this picture for some reason.
I still have a few more posts in the work including cosplay, my stay at the Hyatt, and whatever else I can think of!
