I try to use GoodReads to keep track of my reading and to set some goals. I noticed that they offered an awesome little infographic that gives a little bit of a look at your year of reading!
My goal for the year was 15 books and I managed to read 18! That doesn’t sound like a huge number but in the past I’ve set goals of 50 and never even got close. I was setting myself up for failure and I deceived to stop doing that! The shortest book isn’t a surprise since it’s a comic trade but I swear “Monster” didn’t feel that long when I was reading it! My average book length seems, well pretty average I think?
The most popular book was “Girl On The Train” which shouldn’t come as a surprise. I really enjoyed the book and can’t wait for the movie. I’m bummed though that Chris Evans won’t be joining the film though. I will say I hate the term “Least Popular.” I feel that should maybe tie into poor reviews/scores? If you’re into true crime, you should really check out “Defending A Monster.” I think it’s a fairly new book which is why only a handful of us have it on our lists. I was into it before it was popular *hair flip*. The average rating I gave out was 3.9 which feels accurate. I’m not that hard to please when it comes to books. I did give out a few low scores last year though. If I had read more, the score might be more around 3. The book that I read with the highest score was “Lost Girls” which is a bit of a surprise! I really enjoyed the book and highly recommend it but I’m surprised “The Martian” wasn’t higher among the GoodReads community.
And there you go! I thought this was a fun little look back at my year in books. Plus who doesn’t love a little graphic like this? I already signed up for the GoodReads Challenge again and I’ve upped it to 20 books. There are a few books I already have my eyes on and can’t wait to start reading!
How was your year in books? Anything I should check out this year?
