I honestly don’t even know how to put any of this into words. But I figured that maybe some of you were just waiting to hear what I thought about the movie. And what I thought was this…
It. Was. Everything.
I tried to keep my expectations low. That was extremely hard to do though after seeing clips of Chris Pratt riding through the woods with Raptors but then again, this movie could have been 2 hours of just that and I would be just as happy. While the character of Owen didn’t have the personality of Star-Lord, I wasn’t bothered by it. He’s an ex-military man. He’s not here to really entertain anyone. He has a job he takes seriously. As he should since his “job” could tear him apart at any given time. Claire though, she’s the real hero of the movie. I think her character is probably the only one who really grew as the movie went on. By the end she showed really no fear as she asked for Paddock 9 to be opened. And people need to stop bitching about her heels. She is not Ellie. She does not work out in the field. She doesn’t work in the jungle. Her uniform is her skirt suit and heels. That is who she is. And that’s all I’m going to say on that subject.
But that ending though?! POSSIBLE SPOILERS GUYS.
As soon as she grabbed that flare I knew what was coming next and it did not disappoint. When Baby (Yes, I’ve named her Baby because I can. And I love her.) was released I’m not going to lie, I teared up. I had been waiting for this showdown! And now it was here! But that’s not all! The next thing you know Blue is back and the Dinosaur Tag Team we’ve all been dreaming of finally happened! And not to brag, I actually told my parents “Just wait, I bet the Raptors and Rex team up and they run up her back and jump on I-Rex.” NAILED. IT. BUT THEN IT GETS EVEN BETTER. You didn’t think it could, but it did! Out of nowhere Mosasaurus drags Indy (Yeah, named her too) into the tank!
The entire audience applauded. It was amazing. It was perfect. In fact, it was so amazing that I saw it a total of three times over the weekend. Because I’m an adult and I can.
And there you go. This wasn’t really a review because well, there are plenty of them out there. Now excuse me, I need to go buy tickets to see it again!
