If you follow on Twitter, you’ve probably already seen these photos but if not, yay! I made my appointment with Emily of Have Fun Be Lucky Tattoo back in June. And then Saturday it was finally game day! I couldn’t believe it was already here. I still feel like I just made the appointment. The tattoo took about 3.5 hours. The original artwork is by Elsa Chang (Tumblr/Blog/Twitter) and Emily added the smoke you see at the bottom to balance out and finish off the tattoo. I didn’t want Widow to just look like she was planted on my leg. I think the smoke really does a great job of framing her! As far as location goes, it’s on my thigh of my left leg. Out of all my tattoos this one is the biggest and took the most amount of time. It was the first one where I could actually watch what was going on as well, which means I was able to take some progress photos. It was really neat to see her come together!
(There’s some blood, not much, but wanted to give a little warning)
Emily did a fantastic job! I am in love with my new tattoo. She looks just like the artwork she was based on. I seriously could ramble on forever about how happy I am! This has taken the top spot for my favorite tattoo, that’s for sure! As far as why I picked this design? Well, I love the artwork. Plus I had been thinking about a pinup style tattoo. One day while looking at the print in my room a light bulb went off! She’s the perfect combination of a super hero tattoo and pinup!
So, do any of you have any nerdy tattoos or maybe some planned? Let me know!
