I don’t think I ever blogged about this! But a few months ago I actually scheduled an appointment for a new tattoo! Once again I’ll be seeing Emily at Have Fun Be Lucky Tattoo. She’s the one who tattooed my arrow on my wrist. I feel comfortable with her doing this large piece based on her other work. Plus she’s just really nice and awesome. Even though I have a few tattoos this was the first time I had a consultation. In the past I would pretty much just show up or make an appointment. We discussed size, location, and how many sessions it would take. We settled on two sessions, which could change depending on how I sit for it. I’m planning to have it done on my upper thigh area. Oh, I guess you guys want to know what exactly I’m getting?
The artwork is by Elsa Chang. I actually own a copy of the print which I left with Emily after our consult. I’m going with this for a few reasons. I had been thinking about a pinup style tattoo but couldn’t settle on one. There are a ton of different designs out there for pinups. Plus I love Black Widow. I felt like this is the perfect combo of both. We’re going to be adding a few things, like a background, that way she doesn’t look like she’s just “there” on my leg. You know what I mean right? Even though I have complete faith, I’m still nervous! This will be my largest tattoo yet. I’ve never had one that took multiple sessions before. Plus it’ll be one of my more visible tattoos. Believe it or not, not a lot of people notice my wrist tattoo.
The only bad thing? My first session isn’t until January. That’s how booked up my artist is! She did tell me if something opens up before then she’ll give me a call. I did put down a deposit as well. Did I mention how paranoid I was that she’d call while I was in San Diego? Because I was. But thankfully that didn’t happen. Do any of you have any new tattoos planned? If so, what are they?
Here’s a sample of Emily’s work! How amazing is this?
