In that you can’t just do it once. I have two in the works that are being done by others. One is being completed by Castle Corsetry. She’s done costumes for people like Adrianne Curry and Katy Perry! I’m really excited about this. My plan is to do a Hawkeye version of the classic Captain America USO Girl dress. Basically it’s just changing the colors up and maybe using arrows or targets instead of stars.
Really cute right? I’m hoping to find some other ladies who would like to continue the idea and maybe do different versions for different Marvel characters. My friend is thinking about doing a Loki-style dress from the time period. Another friend might be interested in doing a Lady Viper version depending on her other cosplay costs. My plan is to have this costume for C2E2 next year. I’ll probably take it along to San Diego as well!
In September I have Baltimore Comic-Con. The plan right now is do my Black Widow that I had planned to take to San Diego but left behind because of the lack of time. Plus with it being local, if anything happens (like seam pops) I can go home and change. Then while watching Avengers I was thinking it might be fun to do a casual version of Black Widow.
It doesn’t get much easier. I have boots, dark jeans, a wig, and the holster. The only thing I need are the two tanks and the leather jacket. Hopefully I don’t have any issues finding the right color tank top. It’s more of a burnt orange than a red. As far as the jacket, I’ve been keeping an eye on Ebay.
Then in October there’s New York Comic-Con. I’m still not 100% sure what I’m doing for this. I might just do Casual Widow or Kate Bishop from Hawkeye. Her look is easy to put together for the most part. Hopefully I’ll have my updated Winter Soldier dress by then but I’m not sure. A friend recommended someone and it’s been almost two weeks since I’ve heard anything. The person is local though which is awesome for fittings and what not. I try not to send too many emails but I get nervous about things. Plus if it turns out that they can’t, I need to find someone else.
Oh cosplay, I can’t quit you!
